INA - Taking the hardwood tonight in Ina, Rend Lake College was looking to dish out some payback from a two-point loss to Wabash Valley on Jan. 17. 'War of the Warriors The Sequel' would wind up being just as intense as their first meeting this season. However, despite RLC's effort, the ending was the same.

The Lake's losing streak stretches to seven with the double-overtime, 105-102 loss to WVC tonight.

"It seems when you are struggling, all the breaks go against you," said RLC coach Tim Wills. "Our kids really played very well. It was as well as we have played in a long time. We played well enough to win. Unfortunately, it didn't happen."

RLC led 39-32 at the half. Rend Lake Warriors sophomore CJ Trotter (Hopkinsville, Ky.) led all scorers with a season-high 35 points via 13 field goals (seven three-pointers) and a perfect 2-2 from the line. Brian Gamber (Mt. Vernon) hit eight field goals and went 10-12 from the line to finish with 27 points.

Rend Lake made 37 field goals to WVC's 39, and 18 for 28 from the line to WVC's 18-27.

RLC will host Lincoln Trail at 7:30 p.m., Monday, Feb. 16. A live webcast of the game will be presented by AreaSports.Net. Visit online at www.areasports.net.
