INA - It had been 10 games since both Rend Lake College basketball teams won a conference game on the same night. That streak was undone against Lake Land College in RLC's final games of the regular season tonight in Ina. The women won first, a decisive 90-71 victory over the Lady Lakers. Then the men put up an encore 65-63 win that went down to the wire.
Lady Warrior Kemmy Dominique posted a triple-double with 19 points, 12 steals and 13 rebounds. She nearly pulled off a quadruple-double with seven assists. Great Rivers Athletic Conference Freshman of the Year Ebony Wilson led all scorers with 32 points and got her double-double with 10 rebounds.
The Warriors were down 35-32 at the half and trailed by as much as eight in the second half before tying things up late in the game. After getting the ball back, RLC forward Josh Davis hit a lay-up off of a Reggie Reed-to-EJ Randolph relay assist that put the Warriors up by two for the win. Davis finished the night with 21 points.
The men end the regular season with a conference record of 5-11 and overall 15-15. The women finish the season with an overall record of 21-9 and 12-4 for second place in the GRAC. Region XXIV tournament games will begin next week. Visit online at www.rlc.edu/warriors for updated postseason information.
