The Wabash Valley College Lady Warriors softball team opened its season Tuesday with a 16-0 win over the Lindenwood College Lady Lions' junior varsity team. The game went five innings.

The second game was called due weather and darkenss tied at 3-3
Kristen Broadway started the opener for WVC and gave up one hit and a walk with seven strike outs.

WVC jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the second on Emily Priar's two-run homer. The Lady Warriors increased their lead to 4-0 in the third on LeAnn Collins' two-run shot. After Collins' homer, Jacquelynne Porter walked, Priar singled and Mary Tindle sacrificed. Bree McFall added a two-run single.

Wabash Valley blew the game open with a 10-run fourth. Katelyn Kruse had a two-run triple, Porter added an RBI single, Tindle got a run home with a bunt single, Brooke McCartney singled in a run, April Damm contributed a two-run double and Priar had an RBI single. An error and a passed ball also got runs home.

Priar was three for four with three RBIs with two runs scored. Collins was two for three with two RBIs. Porter was two for two with an RBI, McFall was two for three with two RBIs and Kruse was two for two with two RBIs.

Kayla Meny started the second game and went 3.1 innings. She gave up three runs, two earned, on five hits and a walk with two strike outs. Broadway pitched 2.2 innings and gave up two hits and a walk with two strike outs.

In this game Priar was two for two with a RBI, Kruse was two for four and Emerald Graham was one for two with a home run and an RBI.
