Wabash Valley College's Jared Maners, a 5-foot-11 sophomore from Spencer, Ind., and Desmond Holloway, a 6-foot-4 freshman from Indianapolis, were named to the All Region 24 Basketball team this week.

Maners was named to the First Team and Holloway to the Second team.

Both were also named to the All Great Rivers Athletic Conference squads, Maners to the First Team and Holloway to the Second Team.

Joining Holloway on the Second Team was Cornelius Chatt, a 6-foot-2 freshman from Madison, Ill.

WVC's Andre Miller, a 6-foot-7 sophomore from Elizabethtown, Ky., received the GRAC's Sportsmanship Award.

ALL REGION 24

Southwestern Illinois' Chris Hines was named as the Region 24 Player of the Year.

Others on the Region 24 First Team included Jared Rehmel of Olney Central, Ken Leverette of Southwestern, Monie Hudson, Austin Hill and Mohamed Ntumba of Southeastern Illinois, Kenny Harris and Jesse Perry of John A. Logan College, Dewanne Squires of Lincoln Trail and Spencer Perrin Jr. of Lake Land.

The Second Team included Tom Pelczynski and Mykel Cleveland of Southwestern, Huzie Hambrite and Lougwin Spann of Lake Land, Russell Moore of John A. Logan, Ryan Daniels and Ahmad Grant of Olney Central, and Jordan Lee and Ryan Harris of Kaskaskia College.

ALL GRAC TEAMS

Hines was named as the GRAC Player of the Year with his Blue Storm Coach, Jay Harrington, named as the Coach of the Year. Leverette was picked as the Freshman of the Year.

In addition to Maners, the league's First Team included Jared Rehmel of Olney Central, Harris and Perry of John A. Logan, Hill, Hudson and Ntumba of Southeastern Illinois, Squires of Lincoln Trail, Brian Gamber of Rend Lake, and Cleveland of Southwestern Illinois.

With Holloway and Chatt on the Second Team were Mike Malat of Southwestern, Perrin and Hambrite of Lake Land, Russell Moore of John A. Logan, Grant of Olney Central, Mamadou Seck of Southeastern, C.J. Trotter of Rend Lake and Lee of Kaskaskia.
