PENSACOLA, Fla. - The Wabash Valley College Lady Warriors softball team improved to 7-0 Tuesday with wins over Lincoln Land College of Springfield and Lurleen Wallace College of Decatur, Ala.

WVC defeated Lincoln land, 15-1, in five innings, and took Wallace, 4-1.

Katrina Carter (1-0) started against Lincoln Land and gave up one run, earned, on six hits with two strike outs.

Each team scored a run in the first. WVC added five in the second, three in the third and six in the fourth.

Emily Priar was three for three with two RBIs while Broke McCartney was three for four with a pair of RBIs. Bree McFall was two for three with and RBI while Taylor Wilson was two for three with two RBIs.

Kristen Broadway (4-0) went the distance against Wallace. She gave up one run, earned, on three hits and a walk with five strike outs.




WVC took a 2-0 lead in the second, on LeAnn Collins' two-run homer, and added two more in the fifth. Wallace's run came in the top of the sixth.

Collins was two for three with three RBIs. She has tied the school record for career RBIs with 97. Collins shares that mark with Angie Huebner. McCartney was one for three and Priar was two for three.

WVC has the day off today (Wednesday) but will play a twin bill tomorrow against Robert Morris, a four-year school.
