ROBINSON - The Wabash Valley College Lady Warriors softball team blanked the Lincoln Trail College Lady Statesmen in a Great Rivers Athletic Conference double-header Tuesday, 10-0 and 14-0.
Both games lasted only five innings. WVC is now 23-0 overall and 10-0 in the league.
Kristen Broadway improved to 14-0 in the opener. She gave up two hits and struck out 11.
WVC scored a run in the first as Emily Priar singled with one down and stole second. She scored on LeAnn Collins' two-out single. The Lady Warriors added another run in the third as Brooke McCartney singled, stole second and scored on Priar's double.
Amy Orender homered to lead off the Lady Warriors third, then Taylor Wilson singled with one down and moved up on a wild pitch. McCartney singled and both scored as Priar doubled again.
Katherine Tennis and Jackie Porter both scored on Wilson's two-out, bases-loaded single in the fifth. After Wilson stole second, McCartney singled in a run and Priar added an RBI triple.
Priar was four for four with four RBIs. McCartney was three for four with two RBIs. Wilson was two for three with two RBIs. Collins was two for three with an RBI, and Orender was one for three with the home run and an RBI.
Kayla Meny started the second game and improved to 7-0. She went 3.0 innings and gave up a hit with two strike outs. Katrina Carter pitched 1.0 innings. Jordan Vertz pitched 1.0 innings and struck out one.
Mary Tindle gave WVC a 1-0 lead in the first as she scored on Collins' two-out double. The Lady Warriors added five in the third with Emerald Graham getting a two-run homer, Collins a solo homer immediately following Graham's, and Orender a two-run homer.
Collins added a three-run homer in the seven-run fourth. Bree McFall and Wilson both had two-run singles in the inning. Priar had an RBI double in the fifth.
Collins was three for three with two home runs and five RBIs. Graham was two for four with a home run and two RBIs. Orender was two for two with a home run and two RBIs. McFall and Wilson were both one for three with two RBIs.
