INA - The Wabash Valley College baseball Warriors improved to 10 games over .500 Thursday with an 11-6 victory over the Rend Lake College baseball Warriors.
WVC is now 18-8.
WVC took a 3-0 lead in the first which Rend Lake cut to 3-1 in the second. The host club went ahead with a four-run fourth, but Wabash Valley regained the advantage with a four-run fifth. Wabash Valley then added two in both the sixth and eighth innings.
Ryan Rodgers started for WVC and got the win. He went 5.0 innings and gave up five runs, one earned, on four hits and three walks with five strike outs. J.T. Stenftenagel pitched 2.0 innings and gave up one run, earned, on one hit and a walk with two strike outs. Tory Doerr got the save. He went 2.0 innings and gave up a hit and a walk with two strike outs.
Casey Dishman led the WVC attack by going two for three. He had two RBIs, scored four runs, had a home run, a stolen base and two walks. Jacob Rhodes was two for four with two RBIs, a run scored, a home run and a walk. Dom Spadafora was two for five with four RBIs, a run scored, a double and a home run. Michael Mosby was one for four with two RBIs, a run scored, a home run and a walk.
