OLNEY - The Wabash Valley College Lady Warriors swept past the Olney Central College Lady Knights in a Saturday double header, 5-2 and 9-1.

WVC never trailed in either game.

Kristen Broadway started the opener and went the distance. She gave up two runs, both earned, on eight hits and two walks with six strike outs. Broadway is now 16-1 on the season.

WVC took a 1-0 lead in the first as Brooke McCartney singled and Katelyn Kruse beat out an infield single. Two outs later, Emily Priar singled in the run. WVC made it 3-0 in the top of the third on back-to-back two-out homers by LeAnn Collins and Priar.

Olney cut it to 3-1 in the last of the third on a double, a wild pitch and a two-out double.

Each team scored a run in the fifth. Kruse doubled for WVC and Collins singled with one down. Priar added an RBI single. Olney scored on three consecutive two-out singles.




WVC's final run came in the seventh. Emerald Graham was hit by a pitch and stole second. Priar then singled with one out, scoring Graham.

Priar was four for four with four RBIs and the home run. She leads the nation in hitting at .633. Collins was two for four with an RBI and a home run. Both Amy Orender and Kruse were two for four.

Kayla Meny picked up her ninth win against no losses in the second game. She went 4.0 innings and gave up two hits with two strike outs. Katrina Carter pitched 1.0 innings and gave up one run, earned, on two hits.

WVC took a 1-0 lead in the first as both McCartney and Mary Tindle walked. Graham was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Collins added a sacrifice fly, scoring McCartney.

The Lady Warriors added two more in the third. Tindle doubled but was forced by Graham. Collins then hit a two-run homer.

Five WVC runs cross the plate in the fourth. Orender singled and moved up on Bree McFall's sacrifice bunt. Taylor Wilson reached base on an error, then McCartney did the same, with run scoring. Tindle added an RBI single and Graham got a run home with a sacrifice fly. Collins singled home two more runs.

Each team scored a run in the fifth.

Orender singled for WVC and moved up as McFall sacrificed. With two down, McCartney singled in the run.

Olney had a single, and a two-out RBI single.

Collins was two for two with five RBIs, her 48 of the season and 131st of her WVC career. Orender was three for three with a run scored and Tindle was two for three with an RBI.
