Southwestern Illinois scored two runs in the bottom of the 9th to win the completion of a suspended game against Lakeland and then swept the regularly scheduled doubleheader to win three games on Saturday.
Mike Moore drove in Andy Kuehn who had doubled home the tying run for the come from behind win. The game had been suspended on Thursday due to rain with the score tied 7-7 going into the top of the 8th. When the game resumed the Lakers scored a solo run in the 8th to take the lead before the Blue Storm's ninth inning rally.
In game two, the Blue Storm scored 8 runs in the 2nd to take a commanding lead before winning 15-4 in a 7 inning shortened game. Austin Thater went the distance while striking out 6.
In the night cap, Mike Mueller threw a 5 hitter while striking out 10 in leading the Blue Storm to an 8-0 sweep of the Lakers. Marcus Hustedde and Jordan Phillips both hit two run homers to lead the way offensively.
The Blue Storm record now stands at 29-10 overall and 9-6 in GRAC play.
